SYT Transport Public IRC channel

I was wondering if people would be interested in me setting up a public IRC room for SYT transport to promote business and cater for clients in a real time IRC environment. I am happy to moderate such a room and assign higher Op status to SYT command as necessary. Thoughts?

Well we'd love to but sadly most of us simply don't have the time to be on irc in real time
(rl work etc...)

Manybe some of the other guys are willing as well?

Well I am online everyday and happy to stay in channel, as i'm sure there are others who would be available to sit also.

I think Darlene is right, the most of us did not use irc... I stoped my irc present before 8 years. But this is a good idea... difficulty. 

Pro: To keep the channel active and to build up some life into it I can build some interactive irc bots, all what we need is a active server with an active irc to store the code of the bot. 

Contra: Without any lifesighn by one of us into the channel I can't see the use of this. There is a risk by the user names, everyone can chose every name. One can choe Darlene as name and with this name SYT could take damage by use a bad vocabulary. 

I've been using IRC of almost 2 years and no body uses bots anymore, I have yet to see impersonation of any member in a channel I use or frequent, a simple whois can usually solve this issue. A lot has changed in 8 years . How about a trial run?

In the SWC server there is still a SYT channel.
I don't know if it's registered or not but you should check it.

It's simply the #syt channel.

I was there before but not nowdays.
I think that will be useful too if sometimes you run an IRC channel.

I have found it, thanks Hans. Hopefully more people will drop in so we can get to know each other better and chat easily with clients etc
